About the Instructors
A senior student of internationally recognized T'ai Chi Ch'uan Grandmaster William C.C. Chen Chen, Master Pearce has achieved the highest level of certification and has been teaching Grandmaster Chen's T'ai Chi Ch'uan since the 70s. His training includes Karate, Hapkido and T'ai Chi Ch'uan. Currently, Master Pearce teaches T'ai Chi Ch'uan for the Department of Kinesiology at Indiana University-Bloomington and conducts seminars and workshops throughout the United States. He has a Ph.D. in Human Performance and continues to consult and conduct research in the areas of Motor learning and Ergonomics/Human Factors.

Madeleine has been studying T'ai Chi Ch'uan since she enrolled in her first course at Indiana University in 1997. She was certified in T'ai Chi Ch'uan in 2002 through New School T'ai Chi Ch'uan and in 2004 through Grandmaster William C.C. Chen. She received her Diploma from Grandmaster Chen in 2014. She is also a certified Rape Aggression Defense instructor. She works for IU as a Senior Instructional Technology Consultant. She completed her Ph.D. in Motor Learning in 2016.

Master Marc Marshall
Marc began the study of Grandmaster William C.C. Chen's T'ai Chi Ch'uan in Bloomington at the T'ai Chi Ch'uan Association of Indiana in 1983 with Master Charles Pearce and Master Laura Stone. He attended Grandmaster Chen's workshops in Bloomington and Indianapolis since 1983. He received his teaching certification from Grandmaster Chen in 1988 and Diploma Certification in 1994. Marc has taight at various times in Nashville, IN and Columbus, IN since 1989, and is currently teaching at the Brown County YMCA in Nashville. He also finds time to work as a Certified Dietary Manager in a Senior Living facility in Columbus, IN.
Sifu Daniel Martin
Dan has been studying tai chi since his move to southern Indiana in 1997. He began studying with Master Jody Curley at the Monroe County YMCA. He completed Master Curley's Five Element program in 2005. Dan has been a regular IU T'ai Chi Ch'uan club member since 2004. He received his teaching certificate from Grandmaster William CC Chen in 2014.
Sifu David Fisher
David has been studying T'ai Chi Ch'uan at Indiana University since 2010. During the 2013-14 academic year, he was living in NYC and studied intensively with Grandmaster William CC Chen, resulting in his certification by Grandmaster Chen as a teacher. He likes to punch things and push people and in his spare time is a professor in the IU mathematics department.
Sifu Don Byrd
Don Byrd began studying T'ai chi Ch'uan with Laura Stone in Bloomington in the late 1970's. In 1983 he left Bloomington for the Boston area, where he studied intermittently with students of Grandmaster Chen and Master T. T. Liang. After returning to Bloomington, he resumed study with Charles Pearce in 2013, and was certified to teach by Grandmaster Chen in 2016. Aside from Tai chi, he has been observed programming computers, composing classical music, and climbing things varying in height from about 20 to 14,410 feet.
